According to the road traffic convention of 19th September 1949, local licenses can be converted to an international license to be valid in up road countries so you can be able to drive there.
For travelers, the International Driving License is very important and necessary with passport, ticket in case they wish to drive outside Yemen.

The following are required for issuing International Driving License:
1. Copy of a valid Yemeni Driving License
2. A copy of the passport
3. Two passport size photographs

A special application form should be duly filled and brought to any of our offices along with the above mentioned documents; the international driving license shall then be issued on the spot. The international driving license is valid for a period of one year from the date of issue.
